The Latin word of fountain is fons, which means flowing water, and do you know that the famous and the traditional fountains in the world are mostly found in Latin Countries? Well, as we all know, fountains can be described as a flowing water, well, it can be a wall fountain or a fountain that is free standing, whatever it is, this kind of water feature gives calming effect to us, especially when we are tired and feeling so exhausted with all the ups and downs of our daily life.
Actually, the traditional water fountain is an arrangement of water from a water source, it is the movement of water, and that it will simply land on the basin or it can also be drained. Some of the famous fountain is seen in Rome, one is the Trevi Fountain, this fountain is really enormous and is really beautiful, lots of people go to this place to witness the really beauty that unfolds the place, the beautiful sculptur and the flow and sound of water that spreads love is in fact a helpful way to leave our problems behind. Another one is the fountain of St. Peter’s Square, the water that overflows from the basin and lands to another basin underneath is kind of eye relaxing, and as well as the splashes of water as the water lands to the edge of the basin gives a very fresh feeling. The Swann Memorial Fountain in Logan Square is also one of the famous traditional fountains in the world, this fountain is really beautiful. The sculpture is actually eye catching and the artwork is really well designed and the flow of water is great.
Well, there are lots of famous traditional fountains actually, and all of the fountains are very beautiful and are very attractive and eye catching. People visit the places where the fountain is found to forget their problems and worries even for a short while. In Southern Italy, you will see the Fountains of Caserta Palace, in Derbyshire where The Cascade House in the gardens of Chatsworth House is found, the grand Cascade which has the sculpture of Samson and the Lion and the staircase fountain too, and the Trafalgar Square fountain in the south part of Africa and a lot more. All these famous traditional fountains are source of happiness whenever visited, and will for sure amazed you if ever seen.
